4/30/2007 Columbia Festival of the Arts Off to an Exciting Start The 2007 Columbia Festival of the Arts is already off to a magnificent start. Organizations and events such as Artista Vista felt an increased boom in audiences and visitors and the Columbia Marionette Theatre had an all-time high in numbers of attendance. Shows such as Ain't Misbehavin' at Workshop Theatre and Nunsense A-Men! at Trustus Theatre were sold out and audiences at Saturday's performance of USC Dance at the Koger Center were dazzled by performances from legendary choreographers. Feet were tapping and tongues were wagging Friday at the opening gala on the University of South Carolina's horseshoe. Guests enjoyed cuisine from some of the city's finest restaurants and chefs and were treated to preview performances from some of the festivals presenting organizations. With the festival in full-swing, arts patrons and first-timers should have no problem finding something that sparks their interest.
